they can’t understand

underground
vauummachines approaching
and her shield is only
bravery and glass

The extreme sadness
of leaving your loved ones
maybe
never hugging them again

40 miles
of killers approaching
fed with false
enemy images
not knowing
they have been molded
into murderers

Men
barehanded
walking into a war
they don’t yet know
crying
they might never come back.
